We’re thrilled to announce a series of significant updates to our video intelligence infrastructure, highlighted by the beta launch of our groundbreaking real-time streaming capabilities. These advancements represent a major leap forward in video analysis, empowering developers with unprecedented speed and flexibility.

Incremental Improvements for Enhanced User Experience

Before diving into the revolutionary real-time features, we've implemented several key improvements to our existing platform based on valuable user feedback. First, we've introduced multi-chat functionality within our console. Users can now create multiple chats and run prompts in parallel, dramatically increasing workflow efficiency and allowing for simultaneous analysis of different video segments or queries.

Second, we've enhanced visibility into index usage. A new logs tab provides a comprehensive overview of search queries, generate inquiries, and API calls made for each index. This granular level of detail allows users to better understand their usage patterns and optimize their workflows for maximum efficiency.

Finally, we've revamped our billing page to streamline the credit reloading process and introduce new subscription plans. Users can now add a card on file for one-click credit top-ups. We've also introduced tiered plans to cater to different user needs, ranging from a free starter plan to a fully-featured pro plan, and even an enterprise plan with custom LLM, tokenizer, and storage options.

Real-Time Streaming: A Paradigm Shift in Video Intelligence

The cornerstone of this month's update is the introduction of real-time streaming capabilities within our SDKs. This marks a significant departure from our traditional batch upload-based system, which required an indexing period before analysis could begin. While Moonshine remains the fastest in the industry for indexing, we recognize the need for immediate insights in many applications.

Real-time streaming addresses this need head-on. By leveraging our new Stream class and creating a performance-optimized index, developers can access real-time video analysis with minimal effort. Our system automatically detects connected cameras and displays, simplifying the setup process. With just a few lines of code, developers can stream video data directly to Moonshine servers and receive instantaneous analysis.

Real-World Applications: From Customer Support to Interactive Experiences

The potential applications of real-time streaming are vast. Imagine providing real-time customer support for complex software applications. With Moonshine, support agents can instantly analyze a user's screen and provide targeted guidance, resolving issues quickly and efficiently. We demonstrated this capability with a Figma design consultation example, where Moonshine provided real-time instructions for modifying design elements.

Beyond customer support, real-time streaming opens doors to innovative interactive experiences. We showcased a demo where hand gestures controlled a character in a game with sub-100 millisecond latency. This level of responsiveness unlocks a new realm of possibilities for interactive applications, from gaming and virtual reality to robotics and accessibility tools.

Real-Time Actions: Pushing the Boundaries of Latency

We also provided a glimpse into the future with a preview of real-time actions. This cutting-edge technology achieves sub-100 millisecond latency, enabling incredibly precise and responsive interactions. This opens up possibilities for applications requiring extremely low latency, such as real-time control systems and interactive simulations.

The Future of Video Intelligence is Real-Time

Real-time streaming is not just a feature; it's a fundamental shift in how we approach video intelligence. It empowers developers to build applications that were previously impossible, unlocking a new era of innovation. We're incredibly excited about the potential of real-time streaming and can't wait to see the groundbreaking applications our users create. This is just the beginning, and we have much more to share in the coming months. Stay tuned for further updates and advancements as we continue to push the boundaries of video intelligence. We encourage developers to explore our Python SDK and begin experimenting with real-time streaming today. Join us in shaping the future of video understanding.
